Because of the glass piece and the weave of the light, it doesn't allow a ton of light out. I have this flush mount in a master closet with no natural lightening and it still feels dark even with bright white (5000kw) bulbs in. Overall it's just ok. It looks nice but functionally doesn't perform. I kept it since it was more work to return to Perigold/ Wayfair. I'll eventually replace it down the road with something better.. The separate Pendant kit is ETL listed/conforms to UL Standard No. 1598, certified to CSA STD. C22.2 NO. 250.0. In an effort to reduce our product’s carbon footprint, we are recommending LED replacement bulbs with a standard e26 socket base. Our pendant kits are rated for 40w bulbs (traditional incandescent filament bulbs) or the LED equivalent of 3200 lumens.

I love this lamp! I ordered an open box item and it arrived well packaged in a short amount of time. Unfortunately it arrived without a shade. Perigold was very responsive and gave me full credit refund. I was able to purchase a shade elsewhere, though it's not as nice as the original. But it is a decent substitute.
