The veneers are selected to give the best wood grain effects when illuminated and all have been sourced from forests certified by the forest stewardship council - FSC. Nothing comes close to the beauty of these veneers as a diffusion material and no other veneer treatment gives strength and protection to the material without sacrificing the delicacy and subtleness that this natural material communicates when illuminated. Photographic reproductions of the veneer cannot be taken as a guideline for the actual color. Wood is a natural material, and gradual changes in tone may occur over time. Furthermore, if the lamps have been purchased at different times, there will be differences in color and tone, particularly in the light-colored veneers.
Currey & Company
The Sappho Orb chandelier is made of ribbons of wrought iron fluttering around its nine lights. This is a fixture that illustrates the talent of our craftspeople who can make such a rigid material feel graceful. Once it reached its final form, the gold chandelier was finished in a new gold leaf to make it shine.
