This is a beautiful writing desk. Well built, good design, and elegant. I chose the pecan wood because the finish is rich and satiny. It was a hard decision because the toffee finish is also beautiful, like sunshine. There are so many superior features, like the leather bound writing top, the secret compartment, the fold-down keyboard, and the hanging file hardware. This desk has everything I need to organize my office. While I have it up against a window, you could have it facing into the room because it is is beautifully finished on all sides. The delivery was quick and I paid to have it assembled, although it was only the legs that needed to be attached. I probably could have done that myself, but it was quite heavy to pick up. I was thankful for the full delivery. Even with the additional delivery charge I saved a substantial amount over the "sale" price at the brick and mortar stores. This traditional desk features nine full-extension drawers. The left and right pedestals feature three storage drawers and one file drawer for letter or legal files. The center drawer is a drop-front for comfortable use with a keyboard. There is also a lower shelf in the center.
