Bring the spirit of the coast home. This handcrafted oil painting, entitled "Curious Seagull", is made with archival giclee paper and protected by tempered glass . The smooth maple frame adds to the coastal charm of this piece.
This whimsical seagull print is perfect for our boathouse. The print is vibrant, the mating nice and the frame well made. Bonus, Made in the USA! Very happy with this purchase! (lighting isn't the best in my photo, the colors are as described). Tracy. Sandusky, OH. 2025-05-12 06:49:22
Chris Dunker has photographed industrial culture for over two decades. His father, a photographer and industrial filmmaker for the military introduced photography to Chris at an early age. Chris attended Al Weber Workshops and classes at the community college where Chris’s father taught photography. Dunker earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Art and Design with a photography concentration and a minor in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1995 he completed a Masters of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University. Chris grew up in China Lake, California which is a Naval weapons development and testing station located in the isolated and remote high desert east of the Sierras and 100 miles west of Death Valley. This austere and harsh environment is punctuated with mining outposts, rock art, and industrial-military structures. These were the photographic subjects and architectural influences of Dunker’s formative years. A strong interest in industrial music and performance groups like Survival Research Laboratories expanded his understanding of how industrial dynamics could be integrated into art forms and how an aesthetic could be derived from objects of utility.

I was born in the Foothills of California, a small town called Tuolumne, fairly close to Yosemite National Park. I studied textile design and oil painting. I studied at a local community college back home and at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise. Art has a lot of meaning for me. It’s a way of communicating, expressing myself, and connecting myself to my thoughts and others. I find inspiration mainly from nature and emotions. I like to use all mediums, but my favorites are oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I enjoy being outdoors, playing music, painting, singing, writing, and being with friends.

Raised in Los Angeles, California, D’Alessandro was the youngest of three brothers. When art competition was a form of play for the brothers, it later grew to his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended Illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops in Fullerton Ca. After spending long periods of time studying different techniques, D’Alessandro's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces. He also painted family, friends, and gardens. He has done commissioned work for a variety of clients in music, publishing, and editorial. His work has been exhibited in numerous private and public collections.
