To begin, it is a cute lamp, no doubt. But the colors depicted in the website's introductory photo is more grass and apple green than the lamp actually is. The greens are actually more olive, so less "madcap." The strokes of green appear more painted on top than fired within the glass. Finally, the lamp is much bigger than you think. In the website photos, it appears more squat and cute, but in reality it has the proportions of a midmod lamp. The picture is of the lamp next to a 70' tv.. Will-O-B. A simple column becomes a nautical design element when it is wrapped in strips of rattan. This is the case with the table lamp, which calls to mind side rooms open to the ocean’s breezes. The hardware that fastens the shade to the rattan lamp wears a brass finish, and the final is also wrapped in rattan--the shape of a smaller-scaled version of the columnar body. Design detail of note is how the texture of the shade echoes the ruddiness of the rope.
