“Sabie Forest" is the signature design and it comes in three colorways, Delta, Moonlight, and Dawn. It encapsulates the vibrancy and richness of the bush. Fée and the Ardmore design team allowed their imagination to work with the beautifully rich and detailed patterned plant and animal motifs found on Ardmore ceramic surfaces to weave through into this design. Mischievous monkeys hang off of elephants’ trunks, giraffes and snakes mingle amid patterned reeds and foliage, and an elusive striped and spotted King Cheetah cavorts through a leafy glen.

Derived from the elegant design of the Sabie fabric collection, the "Cheetah Kings" fully-wrapped patterned (two-sided) pillow features a King Cheetah emerging from the lush foliage of the forest.
The "Cheetah Kings" design is made up solely of two King Cheetah who dance across the fabric with entwined tails. The design focuses on the exotic spots and stripes of this elusive cat, who exists but is rarely ever seen. We associate this cheetah with myth and folklore because it appears sensuous and elegant in one's dreams!
In August 2018 Feé Halsted set off to the Kruger National Park to unwind and recharge her slightly frazzled batteries. Nothing is more salutary and exciting than nestling in the bush to ignite the imagination and restore one's faith in humanity and rekindle the spirit. She "clamped" in rondavel huts in the Lower Sabie, a dense lush region of the park, in which trees, plants, and bushes abound watered by the great Sabie River where its vegetation draws large varieties of birds and game to drink, bathe and fish. The area is a never-ending tapestry of camouflaged beasts where light, sound and movement, and color shift and change. Ardmore Artists have never come into close contact with the fauna and flora they represent and we are charmed by their earnest and naive rendering which is similar to the paintings of French artist Henri Rousseau. It is this earnest depiction of our African fauna and flora that we so valued and enjoyed. Ardmore Design was established as an extension of Ardmore Ceramic Art, producing beautifully designed fabric, soft-furnishings, lifestyle products for the home and accessories. The designs created for these items are inspired by the art elements of the ceramic pieces from Ardmore Ceramics which is known for its ornate ceramic art pieces. Ardmore Design looks to discover, develop, and distribute luxury designs that will play a role in sustaining the creative lives of the continent’s artistic community and feed the appetite of the world for African sourced products.
