Artist Lisa Tear was born in Los Angeles, CA, and lived in Arizona from her early teens to college age. She graduated from the University of CA, Irvine, Cum Laude, with a double major in art and psychology. Lisa moved to San Diego in 1980. She has been active in art and painting her entire life. Working in the commercial interior design business for over 25 years, she continued to paint in her spare time while raising her two boys. Now, Lisa is a full-time artist, using her unique process of layering thin acrylic glazes to create colors and textures on canvas, wood, and metal. Much of her inspiration comes from her love of nature and Lisa gets joy by bringing her creations to enhance people’s lives.

Growing up Ann loved painting. As a young adult, she went to art school and loved it. Ann received her fine arts training at Laguna College of Art and Design. Ann is currently based in Laguna Beach, California. Her favorite childhood memory related to art was when she would draw and paint with her grandmother. This lead Ann on a path to the world of art. Ann’s favorite medium is watercolor, “I love when the colors flow into each other creating new washes.” Ann uses nature and wildlife to explore themes within her art. The movements that most influenced Ann were Impressionism and Art Nouveau. Ann’s passions include art, animals, nature, and reading on the beach.
