Adapted from trading blankets in Ralph Lauren’s private collection. A modern expression of flat-weave ethnic rugs. Reversible. Hand-knotted in India of wool.
Distinctively textured, the Panama rug is woven of the finest organic sisal and jute selected for its natural and enduring beauty. A diagonal Greek Key motif adds a touch of glamour to this classic weave rug, perfect for casual settings on its own or layered with other rugs for added color and texture. Woven in India and finished with a natural latex backing, the Panama rug has a linen border that matches the color of the grass fibers.
Really well made, soft underfoot ... not usual stiff sisal. I used a rug pad underneath, not necessary ... you could easily use without. Classic RL style!. Paula. Scottsdale, AZ. 2020-04-11 12:37:47
Inspired by a trading blanket, the Taos rug combines ancient Soumak and Peshawar knotting techniques to create a modern expression of an exotic design. A blend of 65% high-quality wool and 35% natural cotton is dyed to create the striking Black Palms colorway. The texture is heightened by using 50 to 60 knots per square inch and combining a raised cut pile Peshawar weave motif with the flatweave ground of Soumak hand-knotting.
Inspired by traditional Fair Isle knits from Scotland. High-quality wool is washed before and after weaving to create an aged appearance. Wool is space-dyed to achieve the heathered Fair Isle look. Silk highlights are added for exquisite detailing. An ancient nomadic weave is hand-knotted in India using the Persian Senneh knot for casual, enduring beauty. After weaving the pile is sheered to a very low height for a vintage look.
