Palampores or tree-of-life patterns have origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand-painted and mordant dyed--then exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Scalamandre's timeless tree-of-life print, Pondicherry, is offered in rich blues on cream crackled porcelain for today's classic interior. The grand scale of the exotic tree is softened with finely detailed flowers and foliage and is accented with small birds and animals. This is typical of this historic and favored fabric design. The large lamp in the Scalamandre Maison for PORT 68 collection is accented with solid brass hardware with highlights of chocolate brown on the glazed porcelain. Blackwood cap. Acrylic round base. Siberian Tigers are playfully arranged on our Scalamandre' Maison by PORT 68 grand lamp. Rich faded blue and white color tones are set off by the stalking tigers and flowers motif which wraps around the porcelain lamp base. The lamp features a solid brass ring finial and hardware. Blackwood cap, and acrylic round base. The dramatic pattern is from the Old World Weavers collection of velvet fabric with Scalamandre'.
Grand and classic. The Arcadia lamp is inspired by Scalamandre's archival 'resist' fabric. Accented with a black wood lid, lucite base and crystal ball finial. The Arcadia 'resist' pattern is also available as jars in colorways of coral, indigo and taupe. The Scalamandre Arcadia 'resist' fabrics additionally are featured in our fabric assortment and are available on any of our accent upholstery frames.

"Road to Canton" is a gloriously fun interpretive pattern celebrating a journey through the countryside. Dogs, Asian pagodas, Ginko trees, and a boat ride down the river all join together in a whimsical pattern painted by John Loecke of Madcap Cottage. We offer two versions of the light-colored pattern in porcelain, and on our Delfern Bench in coral and celadon fabrics. Canton is a narrow jar rectangle-shaped lamp with a rectangle lucite base. Under the Madcap Cottage for PORT 68 collection, the Mill Reef lamp is a design classic. Scaled in a double gourd shape, this porcelain lamp works well next to the sofa, end table, or buffet. Available in indigo and green with white accents. The lamp will ship with our classic off-white hardback shade (as shown), but the Madcap gents suggest mixing it up with one of their patterned shades from their collection. We have also shown the lamp with Daffodil Isleboro Eve hardback shade. The sun porch in the Madcap's House of Bedlam is shown with a pair of lamps with the ever-so-happy, Daffodil Isleboro Eve shades. As the gents would say - "Bring the adventure home". To begin, it is a cute lamp, no doubt. But the colors depicted in the website's introductory photo is more grass and apple green than the lamp actually is. The greens are actually more olive, so less "madcap." The strokes of green appear more painted on top than fired within the glass. Finally, the lamp is much bigger than you think. In the website photos, it appears more squat and cute, but in reality it has the proportions of a midmod lamp. The picture is of the lamp next to a 70' tv.. Will-O-B.
