"Road to Canton" is a gloriously fun interpretive pattern celebrating a journey through the countryside. Dogs, Asian pagodas, Ginko trees, and a boat ride down the river all join together in a whimsical pattern painted by John Loecke of Madcap Cottage. We offer two versions of the light-colored pattern in porcelain, and on our Delfern Bench in coral and celadon fabrics. Canton is a narrow jar rectangle-shaped lamp with a rectangle lucite base. Accented with aged brass hardware and crystal ball finial.

After a weekend in Southampton, the Madcap's Jason and John were inspired by the local lake with its glorious flora lily pad flowers. John dashed to paint his version of the picturesque weekend. The pattern Lake Agawam is his interpretation. We hope you love the colorful lamp that celebrates this pattern. Strong saturated colors on porcelain accent the lamp with a hexagon-shaped lucite base. Palampores or tree-of-life patterns have origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand-painted and mordant dyed--then exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Scalamandre's timeless tree-of-life print, Pondicherry, is offered in rich blues on cream crackled porcelain for today's classic interior. The grand scale of the exotic tree is softened with finely detailed flowers and foliage and is accented with small birds and animals. This is typical of this historic and favored fabric design. Rich faded blue and white color tones are set off by the stalking tigers and flowers motif which wraps around the porcelain lamp base. The lamp features a solid brass ring finial and hardware. Blackwood cap, and acrylic round base. The dramatic pattern is from the Old World Weavers collection of velvet fabric with Scalamandre'.
