Super classy a.nd BIG! Surprisingly it only weighs 11 pounds, not too hard to hang above my new TV console. The pendulum swings and has its own battery which was a little difficult to insert but you just have to slide it straight in behind the pendulum. Positive/negative are marked, but I had to use a flashlight to see which way it went. I absolutely love the swinging pendulum, a nod to times past. We expected a very high quality time piece. The instructions are poorly written: Step 2 says to remove shipping materials, Then at the very bottom, it tells you NOT to remove the packing material associated with the yoke and pulley. OOPS. The Westminster chimes are ever so slightly discordant. Instead of the regal sounds of well made Westminster Chimes, they sound like a xylophone from a low end street vendor. The cabinet is not a high quality piece. I appears to have been made, and finished, by a group of untrained workers. For two thousand dollars we expected a quality timepiece - not what we received..
