The timeless painterly quality comes to life in a pattern that calls to mind an animal print. Originally painted by Madcap Cottage designer John Loecke, Mill Reef is one of our favorite patterns. Under the Madcap Cottage for PORT 68 collection, the Mill Reef lamp is a design classic. Scaled in a double gourd shape, this porcelain lamp works well next to the sofa, end table, or buffet. Available in indigo and green with white accents. The lamp will ship with our classic off-white hardback shade (as shown), but the Madcap gents suggest mixing it up with one of their patterned shades from their collection. We have also shown the lamp with Daffodil Isleboro Eve hardback shade. The sun porch in the Madcap's House of Bedlam is shown with a pair of lamps with the ever-so-happy, Daffodil Isleboro Eve shades. As the gents would say - "Bring the adventure home". Aged brass finished metal hardware. Metal ball finial.
To begin, it is a cute lamp, no doubt. But the colors depicted in the website's introductory photo is more grass and apple green than the lamp actually is. The greens are actually more olive, so less "madcap." The strokes of green appear more painted on top than fired within the glass. Finally, the lamp is much bigger than you think. In the website photos, it appears more squat and cute, but in reality it has the proportions of a midmod lamp. The picture is of the lamp next to a 70' tv.. Will-O-B. Stunning lamps! I live at the beach and the gold scroll reminded me of a wave affect. The blue stone is beautiful and so unique. I could stare at them all day. "Oh, Pagoda" is the wonderfully whimsical fixture that is inspired by an antique chandelier that hangs in the 'house of bedlam', which is Madcap Cottage's manse in High Point, North Carolina. Part of the Madcap Cottage for PORT 68 collection, "Oh, Pagoda Chandelier" features 6 arms which include 12 tassels. The chandelier is complete with a 6-foot chain and ceiling cap for easy hanging. Hardwired installation. 6 arm chandelier. 60-watt max chandelier E12 base bulb required. Bulbs are not included.

As you may know, the Madcap gents have 4 rescue pups Jasper, Winnie, Cecil, and Amy Petunia. We love that the collection includes a nod to them with the Manor Born Pug fabric which is upholstered on the Delfin Bench. The Delfin Bench is available as shown with the Manor Born Pug fabric. Production is 3-4 weeks from our custom upholstery department in Chicago. Each bench frame is made of steel and finished with a hand-applied gold leaf. Each corner of the bench has a grand tassel. (The tassels may be removed simply by unhooking each if you would like to edit this detail.)

We love the whimsical nod to the Madcap brood of pugs. As many of you may know, the Madcap gents have four-pound rescue dogs. (Read their book "Prints Charming" for many more stories on their designs and love of pugs!) As part of their Madcap Cottage for PORT 68 collection, we added the final on the jar lid to be the shape of a pug dog. It's all in the fun with a nod to their pugs, and their love of antique decorative objects. The overall pattern name Crewel Summer is a joyful classic crewelwork needlepoint. Strawberries, lemons, and other botanicals come together into a timeless mix of colors that brings the garden indoors. The porcelain jar has a lift-off lid. Perfect on the bar as a champagne bucket, or the sideboard used as a planter. So many uses which allow you to be adventurous in decorating the home. You may want to add a lucite base under the jar. Lucite stands are ever so chic. We suggest a size of 7" or larger in diameter.
