Artist Lisa Tear was born in Los Angeles, CA, and lived in Arizona from her early teens to college age. She graduated from the University of CA, Irvine, Cum Laude, with a double major in art and psychology. Lisa moved to San Diego in 1980. She has been active in art and painting her entire life. Working in the commercial interior design business for over 25 years, she continued to paint in her spare time while raising her two boys. Now, Lisa is a full-time artist, using her unique process of layering thin acrylic glazes to create colors and textures on canvas, wood, and metal. Much of her inspiration comes from her love of nature and Lisa gets joy by bringing her creations to enhance people’s lives.
This is a beautiful piece and was packaged with great care. It arrived in excellent condition, all ready to hang. Note that the darker blue and green colors in the bottom portion of the work are best seen in a location with relatively bright light.. DC. Saratoga Springs, NY. 2025-01-18 16:54:51

Four Hands Art Studio
Lisa was a studio art and biology double major in undergrad at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. However, since the day she graduated she hasn't worked with biology! The painting was always her focus, specifically the portraiture and figures. Her work focuses mostly on women. Lisa loves depicting them in ways they are not often depicted in art and imagery in general; aggressive, powerful, confrontational, not passive, and hypersexualized. She paints loose, expressive portraiture and figures in interiors with a pattern-rich, saturated aesthetic using a lot of different materials.
This tranquil scene by Lisa Cuscuna captures the waters and mountains of the Amalfi coast.
