Emma Brooks was born in Brooklyn, New York to a liberal family that encouraged her artistic abilities from a young age. Growing up in the busy city life, Emma became inspired by the various cultures and lifestyles she encountered in the city. With a broad interest in design and modern art, Emma was accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. In her studies in Providence, she admired a slower lifestyle than the hustle and bustle of life in new york. Brooks drew inspiration from her professors and the long-time interest she retained in aesthetics and unique beauty. Emma currently resides in downtown Los Angeles with her dog, Jackson. She enjoys the creative expression that Los Angeles offers and is always seeking new artistic awakenings to portray in her artwork.
Artist Janice Sadler created her painting series in watercolor as an ode to her southern California home. Janice particularly likes working in watercolors, because "the subtle colors intermingle, wash and flow into each other and new colors evolve from it". Janice is inspired by the ocean and local flora. This watercolor series is ideally suited to recreating the visual flavor of the seaside.
I was born in the Foothills of California, a small town called Tuolumne, fairly close to Yosemite National Park. I studied textile design and oil painting. I studied at a local community college back home and at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise. Art has a lot of meaning for me. It’s a way of communicating, expressing myself, and connecting myself to my thoughts and others. I find inspiration mainly from nature and emotions. I like to use all mediums, but my favorites are oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I enjoy being outdoors, playing music, painting, singing, writing, and being with friends.
Fern Cassidy was born in Oakland, CA but grew up in Colorado. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, food & painting.
