Classically inspired by contemporary influences, the Ionia square side table has a wood or stone top and is characterized by distinct legs featuring a fluid, reverse-hourglass shape. Each leg is accented with rounded finials, with slender stretchers connecting the Wrought Iron base. The round stone top is honed San Giorgio limestone with brushed edges. All natural stones will have variations in color and texture.
The antique inspired Frances Table combines a beautiful black finish with highlights in a rich gold. With its delicate scale and sleek finish the piece is a perfect tribute to its French roots. Frances is the only finish as shown.
With the opening of Winterthur Museum in 1951, Henry Francis du Pont and his family moved to a regency-style villa built just across the lawn. He decorated his new house with English, French, and Italian antiques acquired early in his career as a collector. Many of those furnishings had filled the du Pont's Park Avenue apartment the previous thirty years. One of their friends described the Park Avenue ambiance as very swagger, or elegant. Hickory Chair company's artists were inspired by a three-tiered table with an octagonal top from H. F. du Pont's home in the design of the 21st-century table.
