Following this, the urn undergoes firing in a kiln at 950 degrees, and a second firing ensues, adding a white glaze finish. A modern twist to a classic shape, amphoras were used as early as the bronze age. Elongating the shape and mixing it with fine Portuguese ceramic brings modernity to a shape steeped in history.
