The pieces are a little lighter than they appeared in the online photos but it still worked for me. I’m always nervous to order something with a veneer finish sight unseen but this one delivered. The veneer is thick enough that there is texture you can feel in the burl grain. The construction seems to be solid and high quality. It’s an aesthetically pretty piece, but I question the craftsmanship. It seems like everything these days is glorified junk. Pros: Easy to assemble. Took my husband 10 minutes since the drawer comes already assembled. Drawer functions well. It looks good and is heavy. Delivery was well orchestrated. Cons: Came out of box damaged. It was well packaged so I think this happened when it was originally packaged and not during delivery. It’s on the back so not worth returning since you can’t see it (see pics). For $400 after tax, I expect more especially from the brand Hooker which is known for quality or at least it used to be. It’s being used as a nightstand in my daughter’s room.
