Inspired by the sea-faring community of Scotland, Thurso hovers between tension and release. Recalling the comfort of a ferry station during harsh conditions, the artist Chandler McLellan sought to imbue this pendant with a soft warmth in both materiality and luminance. A thick off-white cotton crochet fabric has been stretched across the tiered framework of the fixture, naturally dipping in certain areas. As the weave eases and pulls, it creates larger and smaller gaps for light to escape. Coordinating with the earthy nature of the cord, the Bronze metalwork anchors this light-as-air pendant.

Whimsy rules with Reign. The sconce's squiggly arms and the candle's slightly askew cups give the fixture an overall sense of movement and create purposefully playful shadows on the wall. Bright light pours from the clear bulbs of the one or three-light sconce.

Beautiful light but I can't use it because though the manufacturer and every website that sells it lists it at UL rated for damp locations, the light comes with a sticker that says "Dry locations only". I contacted the manufacturer, and Perigold, and no one can explain this. Perigold sent me a second lamp to see if the sticker would be correct, but the second one also says "Dry location only". My electrician will not install this light on my porch because of that sticker. Troy really needs to get this straight as their spec sheet claims it is damp rated, and either it is not and it would be dangerous to install that way, or they have a bunch of product going out that is incorrect labeled. I find it concerning that after 2 weeks of trying to get to the bottom of this, no one can give me an answer. But I appreciate Perigold's attempts to help.. Em. Raleigh, NC. 2023-04-02 10:13:48
