Not So Layered 1 is an alluring abstract landscape that explores the natural world through a philosophical lens. Commanding the top expanse of the canvas is a Prussian-blue sky. The texture is brought forward by the overlapping of lines, shapes, and subtle variations of hues. A dune is situated in the middle portion of the work. A bare palette of brush green and sand provides a mid-inflection point. At the lower portion of the work is an abstract representation of a small body of water that is punctuated by a broad, green pathway that extends across the bottom of the canvas. A pensive addition to a collection, Not So Layered 1 encourages the viewer to reflect on the abstract landscape with a sense of unity, transforming it into a cohesive whole.
