Based on drawings from the late 19th century originating from the Vista Alegre Museum collection, the pieces in this collection merge Vista Alegre’s past with the present. Inspired by both the charm and the dichotomy between opposing natures, the duality collection portrays the dialectic between reason and emotion, control and explosion, sobriety and excess. On the main faces of its pieces, classic elements prevail, in white, subtly arranged in a delicate harmony.

Dinner Plate Utopia. Each piece of the set Utopia displays a construction of different reliefs inspired by Japanese geometries which adapt to the shape, highlighting each piece and giving it momentum. The relief is inspired by ruffles applied to origami, the secular Japanese art of paper folding. A set where fluid and elegant curves delicacy and poetry prevail.

Mara Dolinskaia was a ballerina at the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, in St. Petersburg. She is also designer Katya Bosky’s grandmother and was the inspiration for this set, which pays homage to the classical ballet stars from the 1920s. In a continuous movement full of life, color, and creativity, the designer portrays scenic elements and the wardrobe of that time.
