Artist Commentary: I find water particularly beautiful and intriguing because of the contrast of its strength and softness. It has the power to reshape stones and yet can run through your fingers. The water in this painting is in the north Puget Sound, is 450 feet deep, and teeming with life, including Orcas whales, sea lions and salmon.
Artist Commentary: Beach rocks, covered in water from a rising tide, are glistening, bright and colorful. It is tempting to bring them all home after a trip to the shore. However, the colors and shine fade when they are no longer wet, which is why the artist chooses to capture their beauty in a painting.
Artist Commentary: My love for and interest in water started at a very young age as we spent so much of our childhood at the pool and beach. The reflected colors that show up in this clear liquid as well as the transparency of it and how you can still see on top of it even though you can also see through it mesmerizes me. I love the fact that it is always changing and you will never see the same wave twice.

Sandi Neiman Lovitz
Sandi Neiman Lovitz applies acrylic paint to a gallery-wrapped canvas or panel with brushes, combs, wedges, water, or her hands. She puts on and digs out the paint. She demands spontaneity in gesture and enjoys watching paint move after applying it with the swipe of a brush, the push and pull of a rubber wedge, the spray from a can, or the splatter and splash from a vessel. The paint takes on its energy and partners with Sandi’s understanding of composition, balance, space, and rhythm. From the artist “When I paint I feel like Alice in Wonderland down the rabbit hole, but I am hosting the party. I invite all of the glorious shapes, phantasmal colors, and rhythmic marks to create harmony, hope, freedom, and power”.
RFA Decor
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Elige attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for graphic art. Initially a performance artist for rock bands, he eventually tired of the rock and roll lifestyle and wanted to stop. He ended up in a studio in the same building as fellow RFA Decor artist Robert Robinson, for whom he became an apprentice. While, as an apprentice, his style was initially similar to Robert’s, he has now developed a unique style of his own. Elige’s paintings are very organic, vigorous compositions full of energy and movement. His paintings are influenced by, and infused with, all of the art he has produced throughout his life, from Mid-century Modernism to current contemporary painting. Strong and vital, his vibrant abstracts embody his response to the art of his lifetime, which has helped him define his own sense of beauty. Elige is a painter’s painter who loves the physical act of painting, the slide of tools and brushes through the material, and the tactlessness and pliability of the paint he works with more than just color. He compares the paint to the clay of the ceramicist. His oil-painted surfaces are so heavily laden that it can take up to four months for these paintings to dry. The heavily laden paint allows color to be manipulated and mixed directly on the surface of the canvas. This technique produces an inner resonance in the art which moves one’s sensibility and has a visual language uniquely its own. Intense and powerful, his expression is stirring. We invite you to examine his masterworks. Hand-embellished giclée on fine art paper. Size includes frame.
