This is a conversation piece. We put this up at our beach house. We only had 8 ft ceilings in the dining area so sizing a chandelier to not look too dinky or take up too much visual space was a challenge. This beautiful fixture was exactly what the room needed. It definitely has scale to it but the design doesn't really block the room visually. Cons: this arrives in a 4 ft by 4 ft box. We were transporting from home to the beach and had to borrow a truck to get it down there. It wouldn't come close to fitting in a Yukon XL. The oyster shells are just glued on so you do have to watch out for shells falling off. It comes with extra shells and they are thickly applied so you don't really notice a few falling off. This mirror is absolutely breathtaking and actually looks better in person vs. online photos. I can’t imagine the time it took to painstakingly place the thousands of shells that cover the elaborate frame. It arrived in heavy Fort-Knox-like packaging to protect it and takes 2 people to unpack. I was amazed that there were only 2 lonely little shells that had come loose and is totally undetectable. The cleat hanger that’s attached is extremely strong but unfortunately the wall hanger part was missing. Perigold offered to replace it but it would take so long and I was able to purchase a set at my local hardware store. I had a handyman hang it, but I did help him to lift it because of its awkward shape and weight. I love it in my kitchen nook but it would be suitable for any room in my home.
