Barry Goralnick designed the Artemis Leather Chair. With its Greek Key wood inlay in the inside back, leather on the outside back, and brass ferrules, the chair is an update on the classic Klismos chair. Most Klismos chairs are more known for their look than comfort. This chair is designed for comfort first, with modern proportions that include a wider, deeper seat. Made of Beechwood in a caviar black finish, the dark brown chair has a tailored feel with its milk leather upholstery.
The Norene wing chair is made of Mindi wood in a fog-gray finish that matches the darker tones in the nubby upholstery fabric. The raised white lines bring a textural feel to the seat and back cushions, as does the way the wood grain shows through the finish which lightens the material so beautifully. Special attributes of the design of this wing-back chair are the bobbin, or spool, ornamentations that are intermittently placed along its frame and the way the base supports the seat rail on three sides, leaving the front open. The armchair comes with the standard white muslin fabric shown in photo, ready for the addition of your upholstery of choice. This piece is not suited for final use as shipped. Decorative upholstery, sold separately, should be applied.
The Tegal Muslin Barrel Chair is made of solid rattan using a very traditional rattan construction technique. But instead of thinner reeds, the ties on this rattan chair are made of leather. The chair, which will fast become a favorite in a variety of spaces including sunrooms and beachside living rooms, has a name inspired by a city in Central Java, an Indonesian country known for fine rattan craftsmanship.
