Glass beads have been made for centuries throughout Africa. Using a technique that has been handed down from generation to generation, our makers begin by compressing glass into a dry grain, and heating the grain so that the pieces form together. The recycled glass is rushed into a porcelain cast. The stem of a cassava leaf is used to make the hole. The beads are baked in a furnace causing the glass to melt together and cassava stem to burn, leaving only the grainy textured "sandglass" bead behind. Our makers are members of Ghana's Krobo Tribe in Western Africa. Beads have played an important role in the cultural life of many communities throughout the Continent of Africa, and remain to this day a symbol of wealth and a form of currency.

Cyan Design
The overly simplistic design of the Chai beads highlights the beauty and significance of the geometric shapes. Its structured patterning and 3-D dynamic are ideal as a centerpiece or decorative filler. This piece is an excellent addition to other objects made from natural materials or is a great juxtaposition to glass or metal objects. Perfect for placing on tables, bookshelves, bowls, shelves, and trays.

Boasting gold blossom-like accents this piece is a forward-thinking work of art. Placed on top of the crystal base completes the glamorous look. For added elegance, a single tapered candle can be inserted into the center of the flower to illuminate your space.
This piece is gorgeous! I actually bought 2. The flowers are mounted on an acrylic square which makes them pretty heavy. However, I bought them with a plan to take the flowers off the acrylic squares and mount them on our powder room cabinet doors as door pulls. We are still building, so I will not be able to submit photos at this point.. Kelly. Madison, MS. 2024-03-15 20:58:59

Hundreds of sustainably sourced cowry shells comprise this artisan-crafted necklace, which comes with a sturdy metal display stand. We love it on a shelf or mantel, either on its own or grouped with similar pieces.

These beads are beautiful, the sapphireindigo color is stunning! I did try unwrapping the rope to make it easier to use, but it seems as though it would unravel and ruin the bead strand. I have mine with another stand of sea glass beads in a grayishbrown color in a Cooper bowl. You won’t be disappointed, it’s a great product.. Renee. Marcellus, NY. 2022-07-04 18:08:17
