The artist, Richard Ryder, developed an affinity towards art at an early age where he took every opportunity to incorporate art into his assignments. During his early years, while attending elementary school, he would doodle on the blank side of envelopes or any discarded paper. This drove his passion to pursue taking studio art courses while in high school & continued that pursuit through to four-year formal art education. As an artist that is heavily influenced by graphic design, Art Deco, and traditional animation, Richard aims to capture the beauty in whichever subject he is painting. He focuses on ways to exploit the basic elements of art to create a satisfying and cohesive design. As an artist, Richard seeks to improve and challenge himself. He states that “With the internet, I am constantly inspired by art either in the fine art or commercial field. It is this exposure that leads me to constantly explore different mediums and styles."

I was born in the Foothills of California, a small town called Tuolumne, fairly close to Yosemite National Park. I studied textile design and oil painting. I studied at a local community college back home and at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise. Art has a lot of meaning for me. It’s a way of communicating, expressing myself, and connecting myself to my thoughts and others. I find inspiration mainly from nature and emotions. I like to use all mediums, but my favorites are oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I enjoy being outdoors, playing music, painting, singing, writing, and being with friends.

Hampton + Dunes is a design studio specializing in organic beach living and casual luxury. In 2017, after years of sourcing artwork for countless interiors from outside sources, Hampton + Dunes Creative Director Michelle Mancuso decided to launch the brand’s exclusive art collection that would perfectly complement their clients’ homes. She called on her longtime friend and gifted photographer Christina Bohn to bring her vision to life. With Michelle as director and Christina as photographer, the two friends conceived, shot, and produced the brand’s first collection of fine art photography. Featuring soft neutrals and dreamy water tones, the seascapes and natural imagery in the collection are moody, and modern and serve as a timeless addition to any interior.

During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces. He also painted family, friends, and gardens. He has done commissioned work for a variety of clients in music, publishing, and editorial. His work has been exhibited in numerous private and public collections.
