Guseul Park was born and raised in Korea and studied ceramics in college; however, she was always drawn to painting and drawing and is a self-taught artist. “Art means meditation to me. By creating art, I get to go explore the deepest side of me and examine my state of mind. Creating art always brought me to a state of pure joy. It is the place in which I can be myself.” Her favorite medium to use is a pencil which she describes as “back to basics art.” She finds inspiration in daily strolls and travel. She also enjoys reading and sewing embroidery when she is not creating new artwork.

The Lines Between 3 is a series of six works on paper that recall the early work of American abstract painter Adolph Gottlieb. This series features biomorphic forms, abstract symbols, and dream-like landscapes that reflect an inner psyche. This work offers playful elements with its use of squiggles and loops that recall Lyrical Art. The color scheme in sand, muted cobalt blue, and charcoal adds to the poetical feel of the work. Lines Between 3 invite the viewer to observe a scene playing out beneath the surface. Part of the exclusive collection, this abstract work is given depth through a careful blend of neutral tones and contrasting lines.
