A Senufo diviner uses the statue to represent an ancestor during a tribal custom, philosophical, or historical teaching. This one-of-a-kind female statue is hand-carved from sacred Baobab wood with hallmark details to the Senufo form, including an angular jaw, exaggerated hairstyle, scarification patterns on her breasts. These details emanate the beautiful female form in a proportionate pose specific to how the professional master carvers would create them. The brown wood statue is adhered to a flat square base for sturdy floor display.
