Part of the “Modern Classics” reissued line, this brand was a marvel of ABS thermoplastic injection molding when first introduced in 1965 thus bringing industrial materials and methods to the home and office environments. This is an international icon of futuristic, democratic design and is in the collection of all major design museums.

Born in Italy in 1952, Matteo Thun co-founded the Memphis design movement in 1981. Having trained as an architect, his practice promotes designs that are simple in appearance but complex in meaning. The winner of many awards, in 2004 he was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame.
This lamp walks on a wire, balancing between full and empty. There is no symmetry in its design, but there is order. A subtle harmony of elements disassembled, in equilibrium at the boundary between light and dark. An archetypal lampshade balanced on a tilted stem, the lamp displays exquisite geometry.
